Amos Gitai's ensemble film examines the lives of a half dozen residents of a run-down Tel-Aviv apartment building. For the apartment dwellers, every action creates a ripple unknowingly felt by all. “Alila” reveals an Israeli metropolis of surprising diversity and finds inadvertent harmony in the dissonance of city life.
